You are Not Your Mistakes

You are Not Your Mistakes

by Diana Scothorn

When our heart is turned towards God, even when we make the wrong decisions, God will cause our life to have the right outcome.  There’s not one mistake or one decision that we make that can DEFINE our life if we allow Jesus to REFINE us in the process.

Define means to determine or fix the boundaries. Refine means to bring to a pure state. Satan wants to…

…put boundaries around our life that define our destiny. God wants to free us from impurities that bring us to a place of freedom.

The devil says you can’t; God says, “BUT I CAN!”  There’s nothing God can’t do if we will trust Him for our breakthrough!  The devil goes about to and fro seeking whom he can devour.  God goes to and fro seeking whom He can do good!

We may have made mistakes that have caused regret, or a setback, but if God is for us nothing can come against us with a permanent outcome. We have to decide that our mistakes don’t define our future, The bible tells us in Romans 8:1 “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:28 says, “All things work together for good to those who love God.”  It’s not about how much you love Jesus; it’s about how much Jesus loves you!

It’s not about how much you do for Jesus; it’s about what Jesus has ALREADY DONE for you!

We can rest in the assurance that Jesus has got our lives covered from beginning to end. When His life ended on the cross, our life began in the spirit. Thank you, Jesus!

Although it was finished on the cross, Jesus is never finished with us. The work that Jesus began in us, in the beginning, He will continue to work in and through us until the end.

God intended for us to have a long and prosperous life.  If we have breath in us,  He has a purpose for us! The latter part of our life will always be greater than the early years when we will allow God to refine us, teach us, and show us how to live.

The wisdom we gain from our mistakes in our early years is a stepping stone to our victories in the latter years. A mistake learned is a victory earned!  We have a choice to allow our mistakes to set boundaries around our lives or become a memorial for God’s faithfulness!  There is nothing we can do that will make Jesus do more than He has already done!
