Winter Wonderland Sip
Ingredients:
- 2 peppermint tea bags
- 2 cups water
- ½ tsp. of pastured or regular butter or 1 tsp MCT oil
- 1 rounded tsp. whey protein powder
- generous 1/8-1/4 tsp. Pure Stevia Extract Powder (try 1/8 first but you’ll probably need more at the end when tasting
- 1 pinch Celtic Sea Salt
- ½ tsp. pure vanilla extract
- ½ – 1 tsp peppermint extract or 1-2 drops Therapeutic grade essential oil of peppermint
- 2 doonks glucommanan or xanthan – equaling 1/16 tsp. altogether
Directions
1. Seep tea bags in ½ cup of boiled water for five minutes
2. Remove tea bags and pour tea into blender
3. Add enough water to reach the 2 cup line
4. Add all other ingredients and blend well – this is your concentrate.
5. Pour concentrate into quart jar and add ice all the way up so concentrate reaches almost to the top.
6. Stir, taste….adjust the flavors to your personal “ahh just right” point and then enjoy your trimming holidays.
Enjoy!

Sounds refreshing…
I make this sip almost every day! So good, and it seems to keep oncoming sleep-deprived headaches at bay (nursing mama, here).
*The one thing I found that I thought might be helpful to share with others who want to try this, is make sure you blend the butter (or MCT oil) with the hot tea at the beginning, before you add more cold water and all the rest of the ingredients. The first time I made it, I just dropped everything in according to instructions, but when I blended it up at the end, the butter just collected in little cold pieces at the top. It was still delicious, but kind of strange with the little pieces of butter sliding down my throat. 🙂
Thanks so much for this recipe- I really do love it!
I think the brand of tea would make a difference as far as amount of minty flavor — what do you use?
Sounds wonderful! Bailey’s isn’t minty at all though.
We used Traditional Medicinals organic brand, but I believe there are a lot of good ones out there!
We did use several drops of the YL essential peppermint oil too!
@Elise…great tip…I’m sure that first go round was a bit slippery 🙂
Might be refreshing frozen into ice cubes for ice tea during the summer months!
Enjoy!
