Who Cares What You Look Like?

You know what keeps us from really enjoying life?
We care too much!
No, I’m not talking about caring about others the way God wants us to. I’m talking about caring about what we LOOK LIKE! That’s called EGO, Mama! And it ain’t pretty. Ego is what keeps us from being totally honest with people. It keeps us playing pretend like we’re someone we’re not. It stops us from shouting with joy or singing at the top of our lungs (what would people think?).
Here’s my question for you…
WHAT DO YOU CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK?
God created you to be uniquely YOU and no one else. Some of us try so hard to conform to an image, that we lose touch on who God created you to be. I wasted years trying to be the perfect little Bible study mom. I had a hard time fitting in. I always laughed at the wrong things and wore the wrong clothes. But what freedom came when I realized that God created me to be ME and no one else. He had a special plan for me and He created me on purpose to fulfill that plan.
Now I’m telling you. STOP CARING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK! It’s time to live with freedom and embrace your “inner mama.” Be outrageous! Taste life! Lay on the ground and stare at the sky. Wear a ridiculous hat. Smile your prettiest smile. Talk to strangers. Sing in public. Be so filled with passion that it bubbles up and spills out to a world that’s starving for something real. Be real. Be you. The world needs what you have to offer.
Daniel 12:3 tells us all about that, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”
God did not create you to blend in. He created you to shine like stars! It’s a dark light. Quit caring what other people think and stand out. It’s your time to shine!
