When It All Feels Like Too Much

By Meggan Larson

We’ve all been there. The kids are having a BAD day. Everything is causing them to fight, or scream, or cry. You missed lunch and just burned dinner so you’ll be getting takeout for the 3rd time this week. The dishes are piling up, the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned in a month, and you’re wearing the same stained t-shirt and yoga pants that you’ve been wearing all week.

Hey, at least you’ve been changing your underwear right? I totally get it. I have a lot going on too and sometimes it just seems easier to crawl under the covers with a chocolate bar (because it’s the only way to eat chocolate with kids in the house amiright?) and forget about the world.

Unfortunately, that’s not always possible…

When It All Feels Like Too Much

I wouldn’t even recommend it to be honest. When we stop and give in to the pressures of life then life wins. When we decide that we just don’t have what it takes to lose the weight, or build that business, or keep the house clean then we disappoint ourselves.

I’m reading a phenomenal book right now called “Declutter Your Way To Success” by Terri Savelle Foy (in fact we’re doing a book club about it ~ click here if you want to join in the fun). In this book, she talks about the importance of doing one task at a time and I think there is such a valuable lesson in that.

When we try to do everything or when we focus on everything that isn’t going well then our lives look like a giant mess. When we focus on one thing at a time, then life gets a little less overwhelming. Decide what your highest priority is and focus on that FIRST. The rest will fall into place a lot more easily if you can at least get one thing under control. Just do a little day by day even if that means just making sure your breakfasts are on plan. Once you get that under control then move to breakfasts and lunches. I’m sure you get my drift.

I have several more tips that I’ll be sharing tomorrow night on our FB class “The Girlfriend’s Guide To A Meltdown”. In this class, I’m going to get real and raw about some serious struggles I’ve been going through and how I’ve overcome them. I’d love to see you there! Join our class group here.

Meggan Larson is a wife, mom of three, and challenge overcomer! Being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and undergoing aggressive chemotherapy when her second born child was only three months old, gave Meggan an expected twist to her life. Dealing with pregnancy weight gain and the debilitating effects of chemotherapy, Meggan’s weight soared to over 228 pounds. Feeling humiliated with no desire to socialize, Meggan was desperate for a change. Shortly after losing 20 pounds with the Trim Healthy Mama program, Meggan found out she was pregnant with baby number three, which ended in an emergency C-section and unexpected hysterectomy. Despite the challenges she faced, Meggan has just celebrated her one year “trimiversary”, and her success of releasing just over 60 pounds! Meggan is confident that her success on plan is “doable” for anyone looking to gain back their health and wanting to live a trim and healthy lifestyle!
