Walk it Out
by Diana Scothorn
Psalm 37:23-24: says, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Proverbs 16:9 tells us, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
The steps of a good man and woman are directed and established by the Lord. Meaning our steps have been conveniently organized and done according to specific principles; God has arranged in advance to take place in our life!
God will instruct us on how to go, but it is up to us to do the walking.
The good news is…
…we don’t have to walk alone, but we have to take one step at a time and do our walking!
Walking means we travel on foot at a moderate speed or pace. We proceed and advance, one step at a time.
It’s our responsibility individually to walk out the steps God has arranged. The path He has paved is different for each one of us. He has a different destination, with a different route, although we all have one purpose.
Exodus 9:16 says, “But I have raised you for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Each of us has a walk that will demonstrate that Jesus is the reason for our success. We may stumble along the way, but we will never fail with Jesus by our side!
Walking it out means we “walk” with God as we take little steps of obedience each day! By faith, we take the step God is showing us for that day. By faith, we lay our heads on our pillow at night and sleep without anxiety, trusting God has prepared tomorrow.
My husband and I get up early every morning, embrace each other, and pray first thing. My husband’s first words to say when my feet touch the floor is “Mighty Woman of God, what do you say?” I immediately respond, with “demons are fleeing”!
The last thing we say is, “Thank you, Lord, that our steps are secure and ordained by you, and we will accomplish everything you have called us to do on this day. Not in this life, but in this day!
We take each day one step at a time. If we accomplish each day the things God has set before us, we will achieve at the end of our life all God has planned for us. Psalms 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you how you shall go: I will guide you with my eye.”
The devil should know when we awake; we are going out in the power of god almighty’s ordained steps, ordered by Him.
The devil may try, but he will not successfully override God’s authority! When we awake, the devil should shake!
We walk each day and continue in His grace, His strength, and His ability, knowing when we reach a point in our walk, we do not know which way to go; Jesus will be there to guide the way.
Isaiah 42:16 says, “I will lead the blind in ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths; I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.
Our life assignment is revealed each day-step-by-step, day by day; as we trust God, He will lead the way. God will plant our feet firmly on the path He has for us, but it’s up to us to do the walking! God will never let us go astray if we trust Him to lead the way.
