Valentine’s Day Cookie Stacks
by Naomi Masi
Some of the sweetest moments happen in the kitchen—sprinkles on the counter, little hands helping, and laughter in between. These Valentine’s cookie stacks are an easy, joyful recipe that turns baking into connection. Simple to make, cute to share, and full of love, they’re perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day with your family.

What I love most about this recipe is how approachable it is. You don’t need fancy baking skills, specialty tools, or hours of uninterrupted time. This is the kind of recipe that works with real life—not against it. Whether you’re making these after school, during a weekend baking day, or squeezing them in between laundry loads (because… same), they’re easy, forgiving, and fun.
These cookie stacks are also a wonderful way to invite your kids into the kitchen. Even young helpers can assist with stacking, frosting, and decorating—no perfection required. In fact, the more imperfect they look, the sweeter they are. This recipe isn’t about Instagram-worthy treats; it’s about connection, creativity, and sharing love in simple ways.
Why We Love These Valentine’s Cookie Stacks
These cookie stacks are perfect for:
-
Valentine’s Day class parties
-
Family movie nights
-
After-school treats
-
Sharing with neighbors, teachers, or friends
They’re adorable without being fussy, festive without being over-the-top, and sweet without a lot of stress. You can keep them simple or let your kids go all out with decorations—either way, they turn out charming every time.
Tips for Making This Recipe Stress-Free
Here are a few ways to make this recipe even easier (and more enjoyable):
-
Prep ahead: Bake the cookies the night before and let your kids decorate them the next day.
-
Use what you have: Store-bought frosting works just fine, and any Valentine’s sprinkles will do.
-
Let go of perfection: Crooked stacks and extra frosting are part of the fun.
-
Make it a moment: Turn on music, talk about what love really means, or pray together before you start.
Sometimes the real gift isn’t the treat—it’s the time spent together while making it.
Storage & Make-Ahead Tips
These Valentine’s Cookie Stacks can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for a few days, making them perfect for busy schedules. If stacking ahead, wait until the frosting has set so they don’t slide. You can also package them individually in clear bags tied with ribbon for an easy, thoughtful gift.
A Sweet Reminder
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to look like the movies or the store displays. Love is often found in the small things—showing up, spending time, and creating simple traditions your family can carry with them for years to come. These cookie stacks are just one small way to say, “You’re loved,” without pressure or perfection.
Now let’s get baking and make something sweet together.
