Try Something New!
by Meggan Larson

Sometimes I get into a slump. Have you ever done that? Probably. I mean who hasn’t am I right? I find myself starting out the day amazingly well with two fried eggs, or two hard boiled eggs, and a coffee with cream and sweetener and I feel really good about myself for an hour or two. Then it’s snack time and I sneak a piece of cookie, or it’s lunchtime and I don’t feel like making myself an entire other meal so I just eat what the kids are having. I get into this habit for weeks and weeks and all of a sudden I realize that I am only on plan for breakfast and that is NOT working.

So what can I do?

Try Something New

I’ve gotta switch it up. I can’t start the day out the same way every single day and expect different results. I realize in those moments that I’ve gotten into a rut or a habit and I need to completely shake things up in order to change it. In times like that, I’ll skip the eggs and coffee and have oatmeal and kombucha instead.

Just as it’s important to change things up on your body, it’s just as important to change things up on your mind. The subconscious mind is SO incredibly powerful and it typically runs on autopilot. When you form habits it just keeps playing them out until you tell it to stop. It’s wild to me how much power we have over our choices and how little we actually exercise that power. It’s as simple as just changing up your breakfast and telling your brain to start making a different choice. Too often we get stuck in ruts and do absolutely nothing to change it. I am SO guilty of this! It’s time to reclaim our brain power and change its direction.

Read through your book again, pick up the new cookbook, change the way your day normally goes so that you’re not living in groundhog day again and again. You have goals but in order to reach them, we’ve got to keep our brains and bodies guessing. You can do this! Just start by changing your smallest habit.

Dealing with pregnancy weight gain and the debilitating effects of chemotherapy, Meggan’s weight soared to over 228 pounds. Feeling humiliated with no desire to socialize, Meggan was desperate for a change. Shortly after losing 20 pounds with the Trim Healthy Mama program, Meggan found out she was pregnant with baby number three, which ended in an emergency C-section and unexpected hysterectomy. Despite the challenges she faced, Meggan has just celebrated her one year “trimiversary”, and her success of releasing just over 60 pounds! Meggan is confident that her success on plan is “doable” for anyone looking to gain back their health and wanting to live a trim and healthy lifestyle!
