 ~Trim & Healthy Mama Tip in a Minute~

Many people think that the book Trim Healthy Mama is overwhelming. Yes, at over 600 pages it can seem like quite a task to get through, however, once broken down into sections, the book is not such a mountain to climb anymore – I promise!

I absolutely recommend that everyone read the ENTIRE book at some point but if the sheer size of it is preventing you from even getting started then here’s a quick tip.

Chapters seven through ten explain the gist of the plan and also have incredibly helpful…

visual aids to remind you of the key points. If you can’t read the whole book right now or if you’re just itching to get started then these chapters will help you do that. Print off the building blocks (found here!) and put them up in your kitchen for quick reference.

If you are anything like me, the thought of re-working how you make every meal might seem impossible. If that’s the case then start slowly! Start by just making breakfast on plan and once you feel that you have a good grasp of how it works, start to change out your lunches too, then dinners, then snacks, etc. This doesn’t need to be an overnight overhaul! You can absolutely ease your way into this way of life instead of jumping into the deep end. If you are one that needs to empty your cupboards of off plan foods and start completely fresh then do it! THM is all about how to make this work for you and your family regardless of what stage of life you’re in. Do this in a way that will ensure that you’ll stick to it so that six months from now you’re excited about your results instead of regretting not having started yet.

Let’s just get real for a minute here. Have you started and stopped things like this before? Have you emptied your cupboards of all the junk only to refill it a few months later? Are you worried that you’re going to do the same thing this time around? Stop what you’re doing and take a minute to forgive yourself. Leave the past in the past and move on. Get a copy of the book “Made to Crave” by Lysa Terkeurst (then come back and thank me because this book will change your life) and trust that this time around you WILL succeed!

There is a learning curve to Trim Healthy Mama so give yourself some grace and time to figure it out. It’s just like when you start a new job and it seems so confusing but a few weeks in you can hardly remember what you were ever confused about. THM is exactly the same! Once you get it, it becomes second nature to separate your fuels and eat in a healthy, delicious, and slimming way.

No matter how you decide to get started (fast or slow) the important thing is to actually start. A ship can’t be steered until it’s moving so even if you mess up in the beginning, so what? Start over in three hours and move on. Before you know it you’ll be that much closer to your goal and you won’t believe how easy it was!

Hey Beth! I’m not sure why that link isn’t working. If you’re a part of the private FaceBook groups (Trim Healthy Mama or THM Beginners) then they are somewhere in the files. Otherwise here is a fantastic reference found over at Gwen’s nest that should help as well as reading the book. http://gwens-nest.com/trim-healthy-mama-book-review/
