Time To Speed Things Up

Time To Speed Things Up

By Meggan Larson

I’ve been pretty content in my weight lately. I’ve been fitting into smaller jeans and you know that always makes you feel like a million bucks. I haven’t necessarily been lax on my eating but probably eating homemade sweet potato fries once a week and crossover pizza is not reaaaally needed. This past weekend I went to Texas for an event and had a great time with my tribe.

It wasn’t until…

I saw the pictures taken of our team that I got a bit of a reality check. I am not where I want to be. I cringed a little bit looking at the pictures of myself. You know when you think you’re doing super well and then you see a picture and are like yiiiiiikes…that’s where I am. I really thought I looked better than that! I guess in this selfie induced world where you can take a pic in the exact angle you look best, it’s easy to fool yourself into thinking you’re closer to where you want to be than you actually are. It was a much-needed reality check, to be honest. It forced me to reevaluate how I’ve been eating and where I can change some things. It also gave me a renewed sense of determination to finish the year strong. I have some solid goals and I know what it takes to make them happen. I just needed a reminder that I’m not where I want to be yet.

This journey is a lifelong one. At times we need to be reminded to keep going and stop veering off the path of success no matter how slightly. Maybe you need that reminder today to just tighten up on your eating or exercise routine. If you know you can be doing better than you are, do it! You owe it to yourself to give it your very best shot; not your most mediocre one. I look forward to going to this event next year and comparing the pictures to each other because I know that I’ll be smaller. And so will you!
