Whenever I see a major Trim Healthy Mama success story I have two reactions. The first is excitement for the person who has lost so much weight. The second is a sort of sadness because once the comments come, the majority of them will be begging the person to post a meal plan, tell them exactly what they ate when, where, how, how much they ate, spices they used, drinks they made, how often they drank said drinks, did they exercise, how often, for how long, how much sleep did they get every night, etc. You get the picture. The reason it makes me sad is…


What works for one person isn’t necessarily going to work for someone else. Following exactly what someone else did to lose weight is not guaranteed to get you the same results. Our bodies are made differently. Our metabolisms are not the same. Maybe someone has a lot of healing for their body to do before they’re going to start dropping pounds. Maybe the person who just posted their success story never had portion control issues. The problem with a quick testimony is that you never get the full story and you never get the background details. There is always more to the story. I’m not suggesting that the results people are getting from THM aren’t real. They absolutely are! (I’m living proof). What I am saying is that it’s important to realize that there may be more to the story than YOU realize and it’s not worth getting discouraged over.

So what if someone lost 30lbs in three months and you’ve only lost 5? Their journey is their journey, and yours is yours. It’s high time we stop comparing our results to others and time to just focus on what we’re doing. If you know you’ve been overindulging then change. If you’ve been doing everything you can to be on plan and you’re slowly losing, focus on the fact that you’re losing! Far better than gaining don’t you think? The next time you see a crazy success story be happy for that person but don’t let it get you down. Realize that your success story is in the making and you will be so relatable to anyone who has been struggling with exactly what you’re going through. You’ll be able to inspire so many around you just by not giving up! This is your journey. Get help if you need it but own where you’re at and know that only you can walk your path and you will be the best at it.

Meggan Larson is a wife, mom of three, and challenge overcomer! Being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and undergoing aggressive chemotherapy when her second born child was only three months old, gave Meggan an expected twist to her life. Dealing with pregnancy weight gain and the debilitating effects of chemotherapy, Meggan’s weight soared to over 228 pounds. Shortly after losing 20 pounds with the Trim Healthy Mama program, Meggan found out she was pregnant with baby number three, which ended in an emergency C-section and unexpected hysterectomy. Despite the challenges she faced, Meggan has just celebrated her one year “trimiversary”, and her success of releasing just over 60 pounds! Meggan is confident that her success on plan is “doable” for anyone looking to gain back their health and wanting to live a trim and healthy lifestyle!
