The Trim Healthy Mama Way of Life
by Meggan Larson
I often see people commenting about and focusing on recipes they don’t like or ingredients they can’t stand. There are SO many recipes in the book, blogs, and Pinterest that I am positive you can find recipes you DO like. Full disclosure – I don’t like or use flax.
And I won’t make any baked goods that call for almond flour. I don’t make any bread, cake, or muffins in a mug and I’m still eating 100% on plan. THM isn’t about completely changing the kinds of food you like and forcing you to eat things like flax and patchouli if you don’t want to. THM is about food freedom! Now that doesn’t mean that you can eat a totally off plan meal and call it a crossover – that my friends is not a crossover.
But here’s how to make Trim Healthy Mama a way of life…
There are a lot of variations of recipes online and here on The Laundry Moms (just click the recipes tab) that are quite helpful if you’re like me and can’t stomach the thought of drinking anything with raw apple cider vinegar in it just know you’re not alone! As a side note, I had never even HEARD of “The Mother” before, and whenever I saw people mention it in the Facebook groups I would just nod and smile and comment “Of course! The mother…” having no idea what that actually was.
Don’t try to force yourself to completely change everything about your tastes because you likely won’t stick with it. THM is a way of life, not a quick fix. Give yourself time and grace to figure out your favorite recipes and maybe make up some of your own – eventually. Enjoy the journey and stay the course! You’ll get there.
