The Super-Mama of All Oils

The Super-Mama of All Oils
by Ashley Knight

We all know women who work hard behind the scenes without public acknowledgment. Without these roles the whole operation, business or family would fall apart without her. Oh wait, I just described every Mama I know. We are all working like crazy to keep our kids healthy, cook wholesome food, teach them about Jesus, ensure they do their homework, practice their sport or musical instrument, etc. Between late nights, dirty diapers, endless dishes and laundry, sometimes it just seems like too much work. I want to believe that one day our kids will realize all the work we put into raising them and understand the love and devotion that comes with motherhood. There is an essential oil that helps all the other oils work harder so in a way it’s just like us. In fact, I wonder if this oil was a superhero if it would feel like a Mom who does all the work without the glory.

This hard-working oil is…

The Super-Mama of All Oils

Please don’t ask me how to pronounce it. I think I pronounce it differently each time I say it. Regardless of it’s name, Copaiba essential oil helps other oils work harder and deeper. Whenever I want the properties of one oil to go above and beyond, I layer Copaiba on too.

My personal experience with using Copaiba is on the ridiculous tendonitis in my wrist. I say ridiculous because it’s been a lesson for me in humility. I’m a very stubborn person. I didn’t even realize how stubborn I am until I started to have this issue. Along with my stubbornness comes perfectionism. So when we were repainting our dining room and playroom, I was responsible for all the trim work. Our new color was a lovely light gray and we were painting over a green room and a bright red room. This required many coats of primer and paint, therefore there were many detailed strokes with my edging brush. Afterward, my wrist ached and seemed a little sprained from the repetitive motion.

Even though I know my oils and love them, sometimes I simply don’t take care of myself because I’m too focused on everyone else. So after weeks of picking up my two year old and nine month old, my wrist turned into full blown tendonitis. I could barely hold a pen to write something down at the end of the day! I did some research and found that Palo Santo was recommended for tendonitis. I applied Palo Santo and added Copaiba for two reasons. Copaiba has anti-inflammatory properties and I knew it would make the Palo Santo work that much harder. I also finally gave in and wore a brace on my wrist. I know it would never have elevated to this much pain had I addressed it earlier, but please remember that I’m stubborn. I have noticed improvement and relief when I’m applying the Palo Santo and Copaiba essential oils along with using my brace. I also love to use the Deep Relief Roll-on.

This oil can be used as a helper to many other oils and for so many purposes. Here is a testimonial about using it with joint pain. I know so many people who suffer from pain in their joints and I hope this helps provide some relief.

“I had a friend over who was telling me about the aching she had been having for years in her knee. It had been such a problem that she would walk differently to compensate, which had caused lower back discomfort as well.

I told her that I really liked the results that I had with a knee problem (with a different cause) using Copaiba essential oil, and she wanted to try it. So I applied a small amount of coconut oil as a carrier oil and quickly rolled Copaiba around her knee. I then went on my way to clean the kitchen. A few minutes later my friend shouted, “Kathy, look!” I turned to see her stepping up and down a step in our home. She continued, “No pain! I cannot believe I can do this!” I then did the same treatment to her lower back, resulting in more relief.

I always recommend following the directions on the labels for essential oils. Copaiba may be diffused, inhaled directly, or applied topically. Dilution is not necessary except for sensitive skin areas. I like to use a carrier oil since I tend to apply Copaiba in the same area repeatedly. I also just LOVE my coconut oil body butter!”

Another fun fact about Copaiba is some countries use it as an expectorant. This is great to know for all the colds and phlegm that seems to be going around. Plus, you can apply Copaiba with R.C.™ to really get a boost for your respiratory system and immune system. Copaiba Vitality™ can also be taken internally to boost your immune system too. I want to end by thanking Copaiba essential oil because without it all the other oils wouldn’t know their true potential.
