There are a couple of things that can cause weight gain that are on the sneakier side of things. I know that I’ve talked about them before but it’s been a while so I thought I’d do a little refresher course. When things aren’t working properly internally, it shows up externally; that’s just the way it is. If you’re battling stuff on the inside then your battle inevitably will show up on the outside if it’s not dealt with in a timely manner. I think that’s one of the ways our bodies try to protect us. There are two main causes of weight gain other than just eating cheeseburgers on the daily or pounding back the ice cream.

That’s a pretty high cause of a lot of issues. Stress raises the cortisol levels in your body and as a result, you are in a constant state of fight or flight and your body responds. When you’re stressed, your body is in survival mode. It doesn’t care how well you’re eating, what it cares about is your level of stress.

If donuts are going to comfort you, then your brain will convince you to get some. Your body will hang on to excess weight as long as you’re in a high state of stress and that really is just going to add to your stress! What a vicious cycle right? It’s easy to say “well just stop stressing out” but that’s not always easy to do. I can suggest different methods to reduce stress but at the end of the day what you really need is to change or remove the major stressors in your life. Hopefully, it’s not your kids. 😉

The other thing that causes weight gain is when your hormones are out of whack. Your endocrine system is so crucial to a healthy body internally so when that is suffering, your whole body is suffering. There are many products on the market to help support your endocrine system and I’ve been taking an amazing one for several months now. Since starting on it I’ve lost almost 20lbs and I know that’s been a big factor in that weight loss. Make sure whatever you use is natural and safe and get your endocrine system under control because if it’s not happy, neither are you. If you’re gaining weight inexplicably those are definitely the top two things I would look at. I hope that helps!
