The Mouth Tells All
by Terri’s Favorite Dentist
Solid evidence continues to emerge that makes your dentist and dental appointment more important than ever. New findings suggest that your dentist might be able to indicate or warn their patients in advance of particular cardiovascular events such as a heart attack based on the health of your gums.
Thus, this recent research continues to push dentistry to the forefront of cutting-edge preventative medicine.
Though you might want to read the evidence for yourself below (Citations attached), I will summarize the research and findings as simply as possible for you to understand the gravity of what is now being discovered in dentistry in direct correlation to a patient’s health.
In periodontal disease, a strong correlation has been found between…
…gum disease and circulation high blood levels of CRP (C reactive protein) as well as elevated levels of homocysteine (another bad indicator in a patient’s blood used for predicting high-risk CVD patients).
These two high-level bio-markers are believed to be linked to poor cellular METHYLATION (Critical for human life) as well as a cellular deficiency in glutathione, the Mother of all cellular antioxidants (another critical element for Human life).
Thus, in short, a simple visit to your dentist could start you on a path to treatment and restoration of health and energy!
Besides proper sleep, nutrition and exercise, don’t forget that some of the best-supported documents related to supplements that promote proper methylation and glutathione levels, (the inverse of elevated CRP and homocysteine levels) are essential oils!
Essential oils can play a key role in proper methylation. Essential oils such as Copaiba, Frankincense, Balsam Fir, Lemon Grass, Clove, and Cinnamon play an active role in methylation. Even more fascinating, there is some evidence that might suggest essential oils as a corrective agent in DNA. This statement alone would have been considered quackery years ago. But with more and more studies coming out on the efficacy of essential oils in the correction of cellular mutation, greater attention should be given to their use in complementary treatment for patients suffering from the specific disease.
Simply put, seeing your dentist could help you assess your risk and even possibly avoid a heart attack (CVD)!
