The Love Potion!
by Terri Bonin

Are you ready for this…Ylang-Ylang… now say that three times fast. ? Just kidding.

Around our house, we call it the LOVE OIL! It supports positive emotions and seems to promote a tender, happy mood. I diffuse it in our bedroom most evenings before bedtime. It’s one of those oils my husband requests to be diffused in our room.

Ylang-Ylang is an essential oil you don’t hear much about these days…

The Love Potion

It’s from the Cananga tree in Southeast Asia. The name comes from the Pilipino language Tagalog; usually thought to be derived from the word “ilan” meaning wilderness. This is often considered to be due to where the tree is found. And, now you’ve had your trivia lesson for the day! ?

But in all seriousness, Ylang-ylang used as an essential oil has a variety of purposes. ylang ylang essential oil by young living
Applied topically, this oil can soothe the symptoms of dry, peeling, and irritated skin. Sore muscles from working out? Rubbing Ylang-Ylang into the sore areas can help relieve your aching muscles. Can you believe how versatile this oil is?

Diffused into the air, Ylang-Ylang has been known to help with anxiety and sadness. Ylang-Ylang helps to calm and clear the mind, easing the symptoms of these ailments. Hence why we call it the love oil.

Ylang-Ylang is a great oil to mix and match with other oils. It has a nice aroma to it. Why not mix it with some of your other favorite oils and see if you can create something unique. Overall, Ylang-Ylang is a diverse oil with many uses. If you haven’t tried this particular oil, then you are missing out!
