Busy might be an understatement for Erin Lichnovsky, a mother of 8. Married for 20 years to her best friend and love of her life, Joey. Erin decided early that she felt God’s calling to home educate her children with her husband. Even with having graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in communications, she stays busy at home teaching, cooking and doing laundry. She also fills her time working as the Program Developer for Parent and Child Education Services (www.pceinfo.org), planning development staff training and major events which include festive family Sock Hops and formal Cotillion ballroom dances. Erin also co-writes for www.CallMOM.co and hosts women’s retreats called “23 Hours”.
Squeezing a nickel ‘til the buffalo growl, pinching pennies, and developing specific winning strategies has kept Erin at home with her six incredible daughters and two amazing sons. Melissa Hinnant-I’ve always been a DIY kinda girl. I grew up with a mom who always made homemade play-dough, birthday cakes and sewed our dance costumes. So I learned to “sew a straight line” very early in age.
My love for sewing, and all things knit grew. Late in the fall of 2011, I made my first pair of women’s boot socks. Everywhere I would go, people would stop and ask me where I got them. I put them up for sale online and in a matter of days I was overwhelmed with orders I could not possibly fulfill on my own! Now, 2 years later, we have sold over 50,000 of these lacey, frilly boot socks and leg warmers. We have grown so rapidly that we have now evolved into an official company with trademarked designs, a full studio and warehouse, and friends and family as staff.
