Holly on Hollywood
“The Knight Before Christmas”
by Holly McClure
Want a family-friendly Christmas movie the whole family can enjoy? Grab your popcorn, hot cocoa and comfy clothes, as you gather in the glow of Christmas lights to enjoy a few new holiday specials from Netflix!
The Knight Before Christmas is a delightful gift of romance, time-travel, funny scenes, touching moments, and all things wonderful about Christmas! Cole (Josh Whitehouse) is a 14th-century knight on a special quest to find what will make him a “true” knight, when an “old crone” magically sends him time-traveling to modern-day Ohio, right in the middle of a town Christmas festival. It’s there that he meets high school teacher Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens), who accidentally hits Cole with her car (maybe causing temporary amnesia?) and invites him to stay in her guest house until he’s better. The two fall in love the week that leads up to Christmas, bonding over food, family (Cole rescues Brooke’s niece in a blizzard), binge-watching Netflix movies (See if you recognize the Netflix original with Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis) and Cole realizing what’s truly important in life’s quest. The Knight Before Christmas is a family-friendly, sweet story with a goofy, make-believe premise, lots of laughs and a few touching moments like an entire town raising money to help a struggling family with Christmas. Enjoy this royal gift of Christmas magic that could become an annual family favorite!
