The Goodness Of God
by Diana Scothorn
It is easy to get overwhelmed and remind God of everything we need Him to do in our life. I was reminded by the Lord this week, instead of putting in remembrance of all my needs and problems, to put Him in remembrance of all of His promises.
God responds to one thing; His word! Even the angels only react and carry out His word. Psalms 103:20 says,“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.” I am so grateful. His promises don’t have an expiration date.
There have been times I’ve felt my breakthrough would never happen.
God lovingly reminds me that my breakthrough is contingent on…
…me finding the promise that backs what I believe God to fulfill, and do not let go until I see it manifested!
God is a GOOD God, His Word is GOOD, and His Promises are GOOD forever! Thank You, Jesus! The bible says in Jeremiah that God will bring on us all the good He has promised.
He not only wants to bring good to us but “on us.” He wants His GOODNESS to be dripping all over us and our lives! God’s GOODNESS should be so evident to those who see our lives that there is no explanation other than God is good.
His Goodness leaves a trail that others see. We shouldn’t brag about our lives but brag on God’s goodness! That’s what it means to give God the glory.
Anyone who knows me, and knows where I came from, has zero problems understanding my life is the sum total of His goodness.
It’s up to us to find His promises and bring them to God’s remembrance so He can bring our deliverance.
Remembrance means keeping in mind and remaining aware. God doesn’t need us to remind Him as if He doesn’t know His Word. However, He does require us to remind Him that we know His Word and are aware He is faithful to perform it.
We are saying, Lord, I have a problem, I’m lonely, I’m in debt, I’m sick, I’m single, I’m broken, but I am aware that You are a good Father, and You have told me, in Your Word, that nothing is impossible with You. Your arm is not too short to save me.
You told me You would bring health to me (Jeremiah 33:6); you said that I would be overwhelmed with Your GOODNESS as You would pour out all Your prosperity.
You have promised in Jeremiah 33:9 that regardless of what I need, nothing is too difficult for You, and You are ready to perform Your Word on my behalf. (Jeremiah 1:12)
I know that You say, in Your Word, You will do it. (Jeremiah 33:27). I am aware of Your faithfulness and will keep your promises in my heart until I see them manifested in my life.
God is forever faithful, and His goodness is forever available if we are ready to forever remain secure in His word. Life presents problems; God presents promises.
There is not one problem that God’s promises cannot handle! When I remind God of His promises, He reminds me of His goodness!
