The Busy Mom’s Essential Oil Stash
by Terri Bonin
You’re a mom. You’re busy. You want healthy kids and a healthy home. So what should you always have on hand in order to take care of your family?
These 5 oils are a MUST to have in your purse or at home. And actually, I recommend more than these 5 (part II coming soon), but it’s a good place to start if you’re just getting started caring for your family with essential oils.
Let me present to you… drum roll, please…
This essential oil helps lift mood for those Mondays when we all wish it was canceled. It’s also hypotensive, to help lower blood pressure. We all feel nervous at times, whether giving a speech or taking a test. Ylang-ylang can relieve anxiety, allowing us to make the most of the time.
A common classic, Thieves clearly makes this list. This is the oil you want to reach for when you’ve been spending more time than usual outside the home. Germs are everywhere!!! With its germ-fighting properties, this is a great multi-purpose oil for taking care of you and your family. And, Thieves can be diluted and used as an all-purpose cleaner for all kinds of everyday messes. House smelling… well, not so fresh and a bit “smelly”. Thieves is a great chemical free air freshener to solve your stinky problem.
Another classic, no list would be complete without it. Perfect for small cuts, bug bites and sores to help prevent dangerous infections from taking place. If your planning on spending some time outside, Purification is great because bugs don’t care for it.
Ah! Peppermint! Love the smell! It seems everyone is suffering from allergies right about now and peppermint can be used to clear sinuses, a major relief for anyone with allergies. It can also be used to relieve muscle pain from everyday exertions.
Last but not least, and the perfect complement to our busy lifestyles is stress away. Let’s face it… Life is stressful! Stress can affect us physically and mentally in all sorts of ways. One of the most common ways stress affects us is with headaches. Stress away is wonderful in keeping the headaches from slowing you down. On the flip side, sleeplessness is a common problem nowadays, due to our fast-paced, digitized lifestyles. Stress away helps with this problem, allowing for better sleep. Relaxing baths are sometimes the best way to unwind after a long and stressful day. Adding stress away to your warm tub will help to enhance this experience. And, we moms could use a nice relaxing bath ending our day.
Don’t you think?
