The Blessed Life

The Blessed Life

by Diana Scothorn

The Blessed life is not something we hope for, it’s a promise! It’s also a choice! We have to decide to live a blessed life. To be blessed is to be empowered by God’s divine favor.

When you’re blessed, you experience God’s favor, and He’ll make room for your gifts and bring you before great men! He’ll divinely connect you to everyone and everything you need to live the blessed life He’s promised. Psalm 90:17 says the favor of the Lord our God rests on us and establishes the work of our hands.

Even in seasons of utter darkness, in the depth of my being, I knew…

God was leading the way. When we trust God daily and do what we know to do, God is behind the scenes orchestrating our life to produce the fruit of a blessed life.

The blessed life includes joy, peace, restoration, and prosperity. It’s the whole package. We’re prosperous in our mind, our health, our physical appearance, our emotions, and our social life.

When we give God authority over our life, we receive God’s empowerment, which produces favor in our life. It’s when we allow God to set us apart from the world’s standards and seek His ways that the root of a blessed life begins.

People desire the blessed life but don’t allow God’s authority over their life. Jesus wants to disciple us. My husband and I have had people take a glimpse of our life and associate the blessing of God with money.

The blessing of God is about complete dependency and security in God! It is emotional security, peace, and joy.

Yes, the blessing brings financial wealth, but that is a by-product of every area of our life being submitted and empowered by God’s wisdom!

It is living a disciplined lifestyle.

It is getting up early, reading the Bible, working out, and eating healthy, daily. Disciplined is when you train by rules, and a disciple of Jesus is when you prepare according to God’s laws! You train to reign victoriously on earth!

You walk with God, you talk with God, and you seek His counsel every moment of every day as you listen for His voice and heed to His word! It’s as simple as this… when we pursue God, His ways, His method of operation, God’s favor will pursue us, as we enjoy the fruit of the blessed life!

The blessed life is a by-product of a disciplined life! When we allow God to have authority in and over our life, He empowers us to reign in all areas of our life! You’ve been equipped to live the blessed life, you just have to make the choice to walk it out!
