The Art Of Blending
By Terri Bonin
Have you ever wanted to make your own concoctions like balms or salves but just aren’t sure where to even begin? I know how much easier it is to go to the “all natural” food store and grab some salve that claims to be completely pure but when you scan it with the think dirty app you clearly see the truth. Most of the products that claim to be totally clean are anything but. It’s pretty disheartening to be honest to know how badly companies lie to our faces.
I started to move towards making my own stuff as often as possible. When I know exactly what’s in a product then I know I don’t have to worry about what I’m putting on my skin or my children’s skin. I’ll be honest, at first, I was mostly guessing and trying to figure things out as I went along. That was until I found an excellent book called “The Art Of Blending” by Debra Raybern. Debra Raybern has been a Master Herbalist for over 20 years and has immersed herself in learning and using God’s magnificent plants. Creating salves, creams, lotions, is where you really see her passion shine! Debra is the author of multiple books including Gentle Babies, Road to Wellness, Nutrition 101, and The Art Of Blending.
The Art Of Blending is a small but extremely informative book walking the reader through exactly how to make their own blends, what to consider when making things like perfumes, salves, etc, and it even has recipes! I was so grateful to find such a helpful resource and tonight we have the very special honor of hosting Debra Raybern on our Drops Of Joy class over on Facebook! Class starts at 7:30pm CST and we’d love to see you there so come and join us here!
Meet Terri Bonin, the author of 31 Days to Fit, 14 Days to Ignite Your Marriage, and Live, Laugh, Love, and Laundry. Terri’s 23-year union with her favorite dentist (her husband), has been prosperous in their prolific production of 10 darling children. She also holds a degree in nutritional counseling which seems to be most frequently used to persuade her children to eat their greens. Terri’s secret pleasure is sneaking away from juggling the daily tasks, homeschooling, and dating her husband to escape to her office to write for her own enjoyment. As you can imagine she has a LOT to write about!
