Tell That Scale Where To Go!

Have you ever been so fed up with the scale that you wanted to chuck it out the window? I certainly have. It’s infuriating to be doing well and losing weight (even if incredibly slowly) only to eat something off plan and get on the scale the next day to be several pounds up. This was my life for so long and often it threatened to put me into a depression. There is nothing as discouraging as slowly losing weight only to gain half of it back in a single meal.

Tell That Scale Where To Go

Had had enough. When I got on that scale in the morning and I was 3lbs heavier I was furious. I got off the scale and I said “NO!” loudly and then I got right back on. The most amazing thing happened. I was immediately down the three pounds that the scale had just told me I had gained overnight! I couldn’t believe it so I got back on and to my surprise it was the same result. Those three pounds were gone. The same thing happened the next day. The day after that I had been fully on plan for two days and thought that the scale should be lower than it was so I it as much. It went down by a full pound. The battery is new in my scale so before you think that I just have a faulty scale let me assure you it works perfectly.

The last few weeks I have truly realized just how much weight loss is a mental battle. I had always expected to be up in weight after going off plan and so that’s exactly what happened. Lately, I have been very intentional about directing my thoughts and directing my actions and so I just extended that to direct the scale. I realize it’s only a couple of pounds but if you’re anything like me sometimes 2lbs up can be devastating and 2lbs down can be a huge win. I dare you to tell your scale where to go today!
