The holidays will be among us before we know it (especially if you’re in the US) and with that often comes the temptation to go off plan. “It’s just a little pie”, or “I’ll just go off plan for this potluck dinner” rings through the air like the sweet sound of Christmas carols. What’s not sweet though, is the frustration that comes with struggling to get back on plan. What’s not sweet is the bloating, the stomach aches, the gas, and the swelling of your limbs so that you can no longer fit into your jeans.
This is the season…
That you need to hunker down in your resolve. This is the season that can make or break your weight loss journey. I’m serious y’all. November and December are make or break months. It’s all too easy to go right off the rails like a crazy train. It’s all too easy to eat everything in sight because it’s the holidays. The truth is, it’s really just two meals; Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner.
I know that people bring treats to work, potlucks happen, and it seems like everywhere you look there’s another box of Christmas cookies tempting you. But you are completely capable of staying strong. There are so many yummy recipes that you can make to keep yourself on track and maybe even tempt your friends and family to the trimmer side. I say we stop acting like victims and instead take charge of the holidays! We don’t need to cave for every sugar cookie that passes under our noses. It’s not like you’ll never be able to eat another one ever again. If you’re jonesin that badly just make a batch in July! The holidays are about so much more than eating junk. They’re about family, friends, love, and friendship. Try to remember that the next time temptation comes your way.
