Stay Away From Fake

Stay Away From Fake

By Meggan Larson

No one really likes fake things am I right? When you think you’re getting something authentic and it’s fake it’s a real disappointment. It’s that way with everything; including people. When you meet someone who turns out not to be who they said they were, it’s a letdown. I find that with food as well. Lately, I’ve been sticking to more “real food” and it’s made a world of difference.

Here’s how…

First, what I mean by sticking to real food is that I’ve literally been eating a lot of salads, veggies, proteins like ground beef, steak, chicken, etc., good fats like avocados, extra virgin olive oil, and adding things like raw apple cider vinegar, and good pink Himalayan salt to my diet. I start my day off with bulletproof coffee every day of the week (adding butter, MCT oil, collagen, and liquid stevia) and stick to real food throughout the day.

The difference I’ve noticed has been astounding. I am no longer tired throughout the day anymore. I don’t get that afternoon slump where I feel like I need to nap in order to make it through. My energy levels are surprising and the cleanliness of my house is proof of that! I sleep well and am still getting up between 5:15 and 5:30 am most mornings (I did sleep in a little on Saturday!).

I used to eat a lot of dairy, things like Dreamfields pasta, Progresso soups, etc. because that’s where I was at that time in my life. Coming from a diet where I gorged on whatever I felt like and ate a ton of candy, this was an improvement! But it was time for me to grow up a little more and be even more diligent with my health.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching myself get up at 5:30 in the morning it’s this: anyone can do anything. I’m serious! When I told my mom and sister that I was intentionally getting up at that time, their jaws hit the floor. That’s just not who I was before. I was the girl who got up about 20 minutes before needing to be at work and it took 10 minutes to drive there! I’m not that girl anymore, and you don’t need to be either.

Aside from the higher energy levels and feeling overall amazing, I’ve also lost weight and a bunch of inches mostly off my stomach. It’s amazing what eating real food can do for you! I highly recommend it.
