Speak God’s Promises
by Diana Scothorn
I’ve learned to speak to God’s Promise over my problem. A Promise is a declaration that something will be done or given. It also means express assurance. God is faithful to fulfill His Promises, but I’ve learned He’s not obligated to fulfill my potential!
I am responsible for pressing into God’s Promises and fulfill my Purpose. The devil will present every problem imaginable to cause discouragement and keep us from fulfilling our potential.
God’s Word is our promise, and when we speak it out of our mouths, He assures us our mountains (problems) will be removed from our life. The Promise is on the other side of our mountain. Our potential is on the other side of God’s Promise!
The number one thing that’ll keep us from our potential being fulfilled in our life is…
…the fear factor! Fear will not only paralyze you from moving forward; it contributes to the results of our circumstances! Fear will bind your mind and release words from your mouth that contradict the Promises for our life.
Our mouth can override our outcome! I learned that I could control my mouth; Satan cannot control my life! There’s a promise for every problem!
When I was on lack in any area of my life, I would say, Lord, you said in Philippians 4:19 says, “You would supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
When I was single and desired to be married, I spoke God’s Promise over my life. I said,” Lord, You said in Psalms 68:6, You set the solitary in families. You also promised You would bring those who are bound into prosperity. I am single and need financial provision, so thank you for my husband and your provision!
When I’ve had an injustice done to me and felt manipulated, I would speak God’s Promise to my injustice. Lord You Promised in Psalms 37:27-28 if I would turn from evil and do good; then You will not forsake me, and my wrongdoers will be destroyed.
When I was out of shape and needed to lose weight, I said, Lord, in 1 Corinthians 10:13, you promised, No temptation has overtaken me except what is common to others in my same situation. You assured me I would not be tempted beyond what I can bear. You went on to say, if I am tempted, You will also provide a way out so I can endure this season.
There is nothing that God‘s promises won’t cover! Mark 11:23 says it best. I tell you the truth, you can speak to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you think that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
We have to speak to our mountains and believe the power of God‘s word will remove them from our life! When I’m overwhelmed with circumstances, injustice, altercations in relationships, I’m reminded there’s not one mountain God’s promises can not remove!
When we speak God’s promise to our mountain, He is faithful to remove them from our lives! Every problem is covered by a Promise! The condition of our life is subject to the Promise we declare and most importantly…believe!
