Show Up For Yourself
By Meggan Larson
If you’re anything like the thousands of women who have gained weight over the last couple of months ~ I feel ya. Being stuck in social distancing and avoiding unnecessary travel is cause a looooot of unnecessary eating. You’re not alone mama but it probably feels that way right now. One thing I’ve noticed during this long journey is that there is a false belief that we are on our own. In the quiet moments when we’re alone in the bathroom staring in the mirror, “you’re in this alone, no one understands” whispers in the back of your mind.
That’s just not true. There are so many people struggling right along with you. You are NOT the only person facing this battle friend. That being said…you ARE the only person who can do something about it! You’ve got to show up for yourself mama! You’ve got to do the things that only you can do to lose the weight that you’ve put on. No one else can exercise for you. No one else can eat right for you. No one else can make the right choices for YOUR body.
It’s true that many others women are struggling with the same thing you are, but you are the only person who can make a difference in your life. It would be amazing if someone else could lift weights for us ~ am I right? But unfortunately technology has not invented that yet so we are stuck doing the heavy lifting all on our own. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is begin making the right decisions for your body.
Maybe don’t eat that third cupcake. Yes this is a stressful time but it’s only going to be made worse by packing on extra pounds because then you’ll feel gross, and frustrated, and like a failure. Don’t do that to yourself! Start right now and get back on track. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself!
