Should You Take A Dairy Break?
by Meggan Larson
Dairy, delicious dairy. Cheese, yogurt, cream, sour cream, cream cheese, butter, ice cream, ahhhhh the delights of dairy never cease to amaze me. There are so many creations to be made using dairy from cheesecake, to pizza, to just having cream in your coffee. But how do you know if dairy is causing your weight to stall?
…if your weight has stalled dairy could be the likely culprit. It’s super fatty, and for some of us it tends to stick to us like glue. It can be known to cause your nose to run, it can cause bloating, gas, diarrhea, acne, etc. I’m definitely not opposed to dairy so please don’t think I’m bashing it. I’m merely suggesting that if you are experiencing a stall in your weight loss then dairy could very well be the culprit. Thankfully there are SO many dairy free options out there today that it’s pretty simply to try it for a time to see if your weight loss picks back up again. There are some really awesome THM puddings, salads, breakfasts etc that don’t call for dairy so between the cookbook and The Laundry Moms website I’m positive you could make a meal plan for a week without dairy. It might mean having to sacrifice your coffee for 7 days, because if you’re anything like me you enjoy quite a bit of cream in it, but it’s totally worth it. Finding the reason for your stall and moving it out of your way is an incredible feeling and one that will push you to continue on in your journey instead of being discouraged and wanting to give up. Nobody wants to stay in THAT frame of mind! See what you can do without dairy and use that as your reference point to determine what steps you need to take next. Again, this is only for those of you who are experiencing a stall. If you’re not, then have at it! 😉 In moderation of course.
