Set Yourself Up For Success
By Meggan Larson
It is a pretty simple thing in life to either set yourself up to succeed or to set yourself up to fail. From the words that you speak, to the people you surround yourself with, to the food that you eat ~ all of these things can either set you up to succeed or set you up to fail. When working to lose weight it is so incredibly important to surround yourself with like-minded people. Continuing to surround yourself with people who are trying to keep you where you’re at is incredibly unhelpful. We all have friends and family who roll their eyes at you when you tell them you’re starting something new. Whether it’s a new eating plan, workout regime, business… I’m not really sure what’s wrong with these people or what has happened to them in their lives that they would intentionally tear down someone they love but the fact is…
You don’t need their approval to succeed. Don’t spend too much time trying to get support from people who would rather keep you down. Instead, find the support you need with people who are going through a similar journey. If you’re doing the Trim Healthy Mama plan then there are literally hundreds of thousands of other women doing the plan too. And a lot of them are in the FB groups encouraging each other and answering questions and even being a shoulder to cry on. No one understands the disappointment of a failed recipe like another THM sister. And no one can celebrate your non scale victories like a supportive group of 100,000 women all on the same journey.
There will always be people in your life who want to either tear you down or keep you down and while I will never understand the reason for this; I do know that there are even more people who WILL celebrate with you and cheer you on. You just have to find them! So instead of confiding in someone who told you THM would never work, dust yourself off, eat a piece of cheesecake, and enjoy losing weight just by eating.
