See it in Your Heart
by Diana Scothorn
I’ve found agreeing with God’s Word and believing God at His Word are two different things altogether! I can agree mentally in my head (mental assent) that God said it, and it is a true statement, yet not believe it in my heart!
I remember as a teenager, I dreamed of having a beautiful marriage with a husband who loved and adored me! I didn’t want an ordinary marriage, but an exceptional marriage!
As a child growing up…
…watching my parent’s relationship was very ordinary. Their marriage and commitment to each other was nothing exceptional. It was nothing out of the ordinary, simply a married couple going through the routine. They woke up, kissed each other goodbye, came home, kissed each other good night, and that was pretty much it! I never witnessed affection, love, passion, admiration, adoration, or honor for each other!
When I found in God’s Word that He would grant my heart’s desire if I would commit my ways to Him, I became committed to His Word! I knew in my heart He would be faithful to deliver His promise.
Matthew 6:33 says, If I will seek God first and, His way of doing things, above all other things, God would take care of my desires and needs! I only have to commit my ways and believe!
The essential key to believing is seeing what you believe in your heart is not only true, but it is so! I had to see my husband in my heart before I would ever see him manifested in my life.
The hardest part is trusting while we wait. I’ve learned if you genuinely believe God will deliver what He has promised, you can patiently trust while you wait.
I had such a vivid picture of my future husband in my heart that even when it looked like I would never find my mate, I knew deep in the depth of my being he was on the way!
The best way to get doubt and uncertainty out of your head and faith into your heart is to spend time daily in the Word finding specific scriptures supporting what you’re believing in your heart.
The greatest encouragement I can give to anyone believing for a mate, better marriage, improved finances, healthy relationships, or a healthier body is to have a clearly defined picture, supported by God’s Word, and do not waiver off what you’re believing God to manifest.
Draw a line in the sand, and do NOT cross it! Satan will always try to rush you. He makes you think the clock is ticking and time is being wasted. Don’t worry about wasting time away; God will make it up to you!
I waited ten years for my husband, and when we met, we were married ninety days later! That’s supernatural acceleration! It’s been ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE, and BEYOND anything I could have dreamed or imagined!
I’ve been on the adventure of my life ever since! He was worth every minute, of every month, of every year I had to wait!!! It is much easier to make Boundaries, in the beginning, to avoid being Heartbroken in the End!
When you have a clear picture in your heart, when the devil presents you with the wrong person, you’ll recognize it. When you know who you are looking for, it’s much easier to identify them when they come!
I have learned if I have a purpose in my heart I’m willing to wait however long it takes for God’s best, it won’t take long. When we believe God for something in our life, the quicker we get a vivid picture in our hearts, the faster we’ll see it in our life!
Be encouraged: God’s best is always worth the wait!
