Salisbury Steak with Gravy

Down-home comfort food is at its best with this Salisbury Steak! Just add a side of cauliflower mash and some green beans and you are on your way to singing the blues… of heavenly delight!

Trim Healthy Momma Menu Plans


  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 6 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
  •   3 tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp steak seasoning of choice
  • 11/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter, OR bacon fat

Onion Gravy:

  • 1 tbsp butter, OR bacon fat
  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 8 oz cream cheese, chopped up
  • 3 cups chicken stock, OR beef stock*
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp arrowroot powder


Mushroom Gravy:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, chopped up
  • 3 cups chicken stock, OR beef stock
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric, optional
  • Splash of coconut aminos
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tsp arrowroot powder


  1. In large bowl, combine ground beef, parsley, coconut flour, and garlic.
  2. In small bowl, beat eggs with a fork and add steak seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Beat again with the fork to combine.
  4. Add to ground beef mixture and combine.
  5. Make 20 oblong patties.
  6. In frying pan, over medium heat, add in some butter, fry the patties until they are brown on both sides and almost cooked.
  7. In large pot, in butter, over medium heat, cook onions or mushrooms until soft.
  8. Remove and set aside.
  9. In the same pot, combine cream cheese, chicken stock, olive oil, salt, and white pepper and cook over medium heat.
  10. Place some of the sauce in a small bowl and stir in the arrowroot powder and add back to the pot, stirring to combine.
  11. Bring the sauce to a boil.
  12. Add the patties and onions.
  13. Simmer 10 minutes.
  14. Enjoy!
