Put Your Jeans On

Put Your Jeans On

By Meggan Larson

Dear diary: It’s day 1, 143, 256 of social distancing. The road has been long, pants unforgiving. I stare out the window longingly wishing for the days when we were simply afraid of romaine lettuce. My gas bill is next to nothing and my grocery receipts look like I’ve been feeding an NFL football team. It’s just us though. We keep buying food to stock up for a few weeks and then eating it all faster than we imagined we would. I saw a meme about trying on your jeans every few days to make sure they fit and lawd have mercy they were tight!

Is this what your diary entry would look like? It’s what mine looks like right about now. It’s been rough trying to maintain my routine while being stuck at home with far more groceries than normal. It’s been a challenging balance trying not to grocery shop every few days and trying not to eat everything in sight. How have you been managing?

The meme I saw was funny but was also pretty good advice. Try on your jeans every few days and you might be able to stay on track better. it will be a reality check when you need one and an encouragement when you need it. You might also try putting on your bathing suit every couple of weeks. đŸ˜‰ it’s not a terrible idea to make sure you are still fitting into your clothes. I know it’s tempting to wear pj’s every single day but getting dressed might save you! Worth a shot anyway.
