Perpetuating Goodness

Perpetuating Goodness

Romans 12:2 –3 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

The world around us is changing at an accelerated pace, right before our eyes. Once we saw the decline of society only in retrospect, now it seems we face the consequences weekly.

What’s a mom to do?

As a mother, I would like to see…

our out of control world miraculously subdued so that my children can live in peace and safety.

But God’s ways are higher than mine. He works from within as well as from without. Our God changes hearts and navigates lives – turning the tide of culture and ultimately advancing His Kingdom.

Since He’s called us to live in this present world, we must believe He’s given us Fresh Grace for the journey.

Meanwhile, my most effective choices are made right here at home. The atmosphere that influences my children the most is our home-life. This is why I strive to create a life giving home. One where my kids learn to love others, embrace comfort, and expect spiritual growth.

The spirit of a nurturing home and the specifics of daily living create a culture that offers more than the world can deliver. It’s my prayer to give our kids a higher road to build their lives upon and a reason to live above the norm.

As Paul exhorted the Roman church, we can also prove to our families what is “good and acceptable and perfect” in God’s eyes.

Why the fuss over home-life? Our goal is to protect this present generation from unthinkable darkness and to equip them to preserve culture – themselves.

“Christ in us” is the only hope of glory this side of heaven. Our marching orders are clear – love those around us and light the way in a dark and lonely world.

James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: go visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

Debi is convinced that our homes are the battlefields for society. As a college student, she asked the Lord to send her to the front lines of ministry. Armed with a newfound devotion to Christ and Child Development background, she married her college sweetheart and they began to dream of what a family could become. Thirty plus years later, Tim and Debi have eleven children, six grandchildren, and lives filled with frontline battle-scars and victories beyond measure.

Presently, they have a house full of teenagers in DFW and four sons in college. Debi’s desire is to leave footprints for those who follow, and to impart grace to mothers of all ages. Debi can be found at Fresh Grace for Mothers , @mother211, Instagram and Pinterest , but her favorite place on earth is home.
