Nothing Can Keep Him Away

Nothing Can Keep Him Away
by Hannah Keeley

The east coast was hit pretty hard with the “snowpocalypse” last year. I was away in Dallas when it hit and was grateful I had stocked the fridge and pantry with meals for the week.

But I had no idea how bad the snow really was…

Nothing Can Keep Him Away

When I got a call the night before that my flight had been canceled, I began to get a bit concerned. I got on the phone immediately and began searching for a flight home. Finally, I got placed in one of the last remaining seats for a later flight going into a town two hours away from home.

I grabbed it.

I didn’t know how I was going to get home because my family was still heavily snowed in and no car services were running. But I was determined. Even if I had to rent a dog sled or borrow some snowshoes and trudge the whole way home, I was getting to my family.

And that’s just how God is with you. You are His child and He takes that very personally. No matter what He has to do–even down to sacrificing His own son–He will do it for you. His love drives Him. It’s relentless.

Just like a mom.

You’re probably just like me. People can mess around with you, but they better not dare touch your babies! That’s when the claws come out and the earrings come off!

God is just as protective, and more. His love is so overpowering that it makes Him do things that to other people, seem just plain crazy. Jesus was God in man form. It didn’t make sense that He would carry a cross, take nails through His hands, and even go to hell for us, but He did. His love is so overpowering that it compels Him to do it.

Romans 8:31-32 tells us that “if God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”

This crazy, relentless love wasn’t just displayed that day at Calvary. It’s displayed every day of our lives. No matter where you are or what you’re dealing with right now, God wants His love to invade that space and drive out all fear, lack, sickness, sorrow, and overwhelm. No matter what He has to do. He’ll do it.

Know this deeply. It’s one thing to know you love God, but an entirely different thing to realize that He loves you. He loves you with a love so deep and amazing, you can’t comprehend it. And no matter what He has to do today. No matter what bridge He has to cross, mountain He has to climb, or “snowpocalypse” He has to trudge through. He will do it–for you.

When my plane touched down, I was ready to do whatever I had to do–hitchhike, take a train, ride a mule, walk–it didn’t matter. I was getting home.

And then I saw it. There was my husband, waiting for me in baggage claim. He had enlisted the troops and spend six hours digging his car out of the snow to come get me. I collapsed in tears. That’s what love does. And that’s the love that God wants to show you today.

Open yourself up to receive it. Jesus loves you. Know this.

Hannah Keeley was once in overwhelmed mom living in a cluttered house, deep in debt, out of shape, and barely hanging on. But one day, after finding herself sobbing uncontrollably into a pile of clean laundry, she realized God has bigger and better plans for her (just like He does for each one of His children). Beginning that day, she began making changes in her life that took her from overwhelmed to overjoyed. Today, she’s helping moms do the same. Hannah, her husband, Blair, and their seven children live in Richmond, Virginia, and are having the time of their lives!
