My Sexiest Man Alive
by Hannah Keeley
Much to my husband’s chagrin, I’ve GOT to tell you what happened this past week. When my husband told me about this embarrassing incident, I about fell off my chair laughing. He then said, “Oh, No! You want to tell your friends about this, don’t you?”
I responded, “I don’t WANT to tell them. I GOT to tell them!”
My husband, Blair, is listed in my contacts as “The Sexiest Man Alive.” Well, this past week, he got a new iPhone and when he updated it, he accidentally pulled all of my contacts into his phone, since we share the same cloud account.
That next day…
…he began sending out emails to all of his co-workers and clients. Panic quickly ensued about halfway through the day when he realized that all of his emails were being sent from “The Sexiest Man Alive.”Yeah….he ain’t gonna be living that one down anytime soon!
Although this incident caused me to laugh so hard my spleen nearly ruptured, it also taught me a good lesson about showing the world who you really are.
If you are a believer in Jesus, you’re in a LOVE relationship! And it’s not a love relationship you keep to yourself. It’s one that the world needs to know about. There are far too many people who are living with an identity crisis. They say they love God, but the world doesn’t get to see a bit of that.
Being a believer isn’t just part of your identity. It IS your identity! Everywhere you go, you show who you are and Whose you are. Everything you touch should be dripping with the favor of God. Every step you take should usher in the kingdom of God. You could get dropped off in the nastiest, most violent, most poverty-stricken spot on this planet, but as soon as your feet touch the ground, the favor of God begins to spread.
God doesn’t plant you where His favor currently exists. His favor exists in YOU, and where you go, you bring that favor with you!
God isn’t something you should be keeping to yourself (unlike Blair’s identity as “the sexiest man alive”–that can be kept on the down low!). You have access to the ultimate success formula through your relationship to God. There’s no problem He can’t solve and no goal He can’t reach.
Now WHY would you want to keep something that good under wraps?
We live in a hurting world. If you have Jesus, then people NEED what you’ve GOT. Don’t keep your identity a secret. Share the Bread of Life with a world that is starving to death. Share the Light of the World with a world that is stumbling around in darkness. God places opportunities right in front of us every single day to share who we are.
* An overwhelmed mom in the grocery store needs a smile and a sweet word of encouragement.
* A homeless man by the side of the road needs a meal and to know that he still matters in this world.
* A child who is pulling at your leg needs you to slow down and play for a few minutes.
* A discouraged teen needs a plate of nachos and to know that God cares about everything he’s going through.
* That woman working the register needs a kind word and to know that someone cares.
* That family needs someone to pick up their bill and give them a renewed sense of hope.
Don’t you see? You are light! You are salt! You are everything this world longs for! Wake up each morning and shout, “I’m here, God! Give me someone to bless! Help me change someone’s life!”
Matthew 6:33 tells us to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” You know what that means? It means when you focus on building God’s kingdom, He’ll focus on building yours.
Break out of that small little world called, “Me” and start looking for how you can invade that big world called, “Them.” The world has problems and YOU are carrying the solution. It’s time to be LOUD and PROUD and show the world what you’ve got–the Favor of God!
Now its YOUR turn! Leave a comment below and share HOW you are going to bring God’s power and love to a world in need. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Hannah Keeley was once in overwhelmed mom living in a cluttered house, deep in debt, out of shape, and barely hanging on. But one day, after finding herself sobbing uncontrollably into a pile of clean laundry, she realized God has bigger and better plans for her (just like He does for each one of His children). Beginning that day, she began making changes in her life that took her from overwhelmed to overjoyed. Today, she’s helping moms do the same. Hannah, her husband, Blair, and their seven children live in Richmond, Virginia, and are having the time of their lives!
