Loving Mondays
by Meggan Larson
Mondays get a bad rep don’t they? They’re the end of the weekend party, the back to work dread, heck even Garfield hates Mondays! I used to feel the same way about them. I started dreading them every Friday after work! I now look forward to them though.
So what changed?…
Mondays have such incredible potential. The whole week stretches before you and the bad decisions of the weekend are washed away. Monday is a fresh start! For all of you Trim Healthy Mamas, you can make a meal plan over the weekend and make sure to get all of the groceries you will need before Monday comes along. You can start a new workout routine on Monday. You can decide to finally commit fully to this way of eating. To me, every Monday is a do-over. I’m not suggesting that you should do and eat whatever you want over the weekend but if you make some bad choices or get off track then give yourself some grace and start over on Monday.
This being labor day Monday you may have made some off plan choices in the name of a long weekend. I get it! But you don’t have to let that set the tone of your entire week. Take today to have some fried eggs (Pearl’s go to for getting back on plan – yes even PEARL goes off plan sometimes!), space your meals three hours apart, and keep yourself hydrated. There are over three months left in the year and plenty of time to start reaching some of the goals you set for yourself back in January. There are still 19 Mondays left in the year! Enjoy them, cherish them, and definitely don’t dread them. Spending your time and emotions on dread is no way to live. Start looking forward to all of the incredible possibilities Monday has for you. It’s always just around the corner!
As always I’d love to hear from you so if you have any questions or comments please comment below or email me at Meggan@thelaundrymoms.com
