Keep Your Head In The Game
By Meggan Larson
Last week I talked about my need to purge my clothing. I had so many different sizes cluttering up my entire room that  I could barely stand it. I knew that I needed to go through it but it seemed like such a monumental task. Do you ever feel that way about stuff? It’s tough. It feels like an enormous hill to climb without a clue how to actually start climbing it. Even the thought of it makes you break out into cold sweats am I right? I did something revolutionary about my mountain of clothing. I even shocked myself!
What I did was…
Start.
Ha!
Seriously though, that’s what I did! One night I was about to go creeping on facebook because I had some free time and then I remembered that I wanted to clear out my extra clothing. I’ll be honest, I almost ignored the thought. I almost did what most people would do in that situation and got on facebook knowing that my mountain was waiting for me.
Amazingly enough, I got 95% of the extra clothing out of my room in under an hour. That’s it! And it was really nice stuff y’all. But the thing is, I have been holding on to these clothes for years and the weight of all the clutter has been draining. Once I cleared the clothing out of my room it was a literal weight off of my shoulders. Not to mention the fact that I was able to gift all of the clothing to a bunch of mamas in my neighborhood.
So, how does any of this relate to weight loss? We emotionally eat when other things are weighing us down. When there is too much going on, that’s when we struggle the most to stay on track. If you can get the extra clutter out of your room, house, etc. then it’s just easier to keep your head in the game and stay on plan. What’s been weighing you down lately friend? Is there a mountain in your house you need to get rid of? It’s time to tackle it so that you can focus on what really matters, instead of being distracted by something that doesn’t.
