Jesus Can Fix It

Jesus Can Fix It

by Diana Scothorn

I have tried so many times to fix things, fix people and fix circumstances. Despite all my efforts and strength, it always turned out to be a wasted time.

What I try to fix in my strength is a waste of effort.  Whether one day, one week, a month, or years, it would fall apart!  I have learned that I need to…

…keep my eyes fixed, JESUS!

Hebrews 12:2 (New American Standard) says, “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

A few definitions for the word fix are to fasten, attach, or secure.  It also means to decide, resolve, establish and determine.  Jesus is the only one that can give us the personal “FIX”  we need.

When we attach ourselves to Jesus and learn His ways and word, we will become secure in our direction, as  He establishes our steps and determines the outcome. Proverbs 16:9 (amplified version) says, “A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the LORD directs his steps and establishes them.”

When we allow God to do the work and fix our problems, He does a finished work.  He makes it permanent and leaves us in a better condition than beforehand!

When we are unsure of the outcome of our dilemma at hand, it causes our minds to go in directions that will produce torment and fear!  Isaiah 26:3 says, (NIV) “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You.”

When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we focus on the answer, not the problem.  Peter could walk on water by simply keeping his eyes on Jesus.  Jesus can make what is UNPROBABLE, POSSIBLE!

The devil would like to redirect our thought on the thing causing us to lose our peace rather than direct our thoughts on JESUS, who can guide us in peace!

No amount of money can buy peace. Jesus paid a great price to leave us peace.  John 14:27 says, (NKJV) says, “ Peace I leave with you, The peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

In John 16:33 (NIV), I “have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Recently I had something keeping me up and causing concern in my heart.  Fear quickly was trying to attach to my thinking and spirit.  When FEAR ATTACHES, PEACE EXITS.  We have to make a decision that JESUS can handle any problem.

Psalms 138:8 says, “I will perfect that which concerns you.”Translated, I will fix anything concerning you; take your hands off, and let me handle it.

The peace of Jesus leaves an everlasting joy and happiness that brings security and stability. The peace of Jesus gives us freedom in our minds from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, and obsession.

If I desperately want someone to change or something to happen, the most significant fix is a JESUS FIX!

What I try to fix in my strength is like airing up a flat tire to take a trip around the world.  If I set my eyes on Jesus, He will restore my life and get me to my desired destination!
