Is THM Right For You?

Recently I’ve noticed a disturbance in the THM force. What once was an air of excitement and hope has, for some, turned sour and (if I’m being frank) a little bitter. I’ve coached and guided many people with their meal plans and given direction on tweaks, what’s on and off plan, and given many suggestions on how to make the plan work for individuals but at the end of the day a question must be asked and only you can answer it.

That question is…

Is THM for you? I’m sure it’s an odd question coming from someone who has heavily promoted the plan for many years but sometimes it needs asking. If you’ve been trying to figure this plan out for months or years with no success and you’ve already worked one on one with an admin then it might be time to try something else. If you are constantly frustrated and angry with THM to the point that you are writing snippy Facebook posts about how complicated the plan is and refusing any kind of help, then it may be time to try something else. If you are unwilling to put the time and effort into studying the plan and learning it inside and out then it may not be the right fit for you and guess what? That’s okay!

Not every diet is going to work for everyone. Does it work for me? Absolutely. Does it work for thousands and thousands of other people? Yes it does. But even in my coaching there occasionally comes a time where I tell the person this plan may not be for them. There are some things that you need in order to be achieve success with THM and I’m not talking about special ingredients. I can tell you that a negative attitude, impatience, and frustration are not the keys to success with THM (or anything for that matter). If you find that’s all you have left then at least take a break and maybe come back to it a few weeks from now. It’s worth sticking it out and really understanding the plan but if it’s making mama angry for most of the week then it’s not worth it. Be honest with yourself about where you’re at and take the steps you need to in order to either figure this out once and for all, or walk away and find something that will work for you.
