Is It Really Worth It?
By Meggan Larson
If you read my article from last week then you know I was on vacation recently. I got back on Friday of last week and I am so glad that I brought my scale with me. Even though I did, I still gained a whopping 7 & 1/2lbs in a SINGLE week! I was appalled, to say the least. It’s been coming off steadily since I’ve been home but I felt the edges of depression creeping up on me over the weekend and it made me think to myself…
Was it even worth it? I had a good time, lots of swimming, reading, movies. etc. and way too much junk food. It had been a couple of years since I really let myself eat unrestricted like that. I ate butter tarts, and chips, and way too much cheese. I never really had that moment of “ahhhhh this is so good and so worth it” ya know? It was kind of meh, to be honest. At the end of the week, I was more disappointed than anything and nothing I ate was worth gaining over 7lbs. The saddest part was how much I was looking forward to the gorge-fest and it wasn’t even worth it!
This week I’ve made my favorite on plan cookies and an apple crisp made with the baking blend and they were both just as good if not better than anything I ate last week. I’ve lost 3 of the 7 & 1/2 lbs that I gained (in less than a week) and I just feel so much better. I write this in part to show you that I’m in no way perfect, but also to hopefully save you from making the same bad choices. Save yourself a detox headache, bloating, and depression and just stay on plan.
