I Go Out Walking

It’s the summertime and my absolute favorite time of year. It’s absolutely beautiful outside and I much prefer the hot summer sun over the frigid winter. I was just reading about how important it is to get exercise into your daily routine and I was suddenly so thankful for walks. It is truly so simple to get a walk-in every single day. I’m at home with my kids and dog so I can easily take multiple walks per day.

When I was working full time I…


…used to spend my lunch hour walking around the parking lot of my work. It was so refreshing to get outside and go for a brisk walk. Not to mention the fact that the office I worked in had no windows so it was nice to feel the sun. Just a thirty-minute walk each day does SO much good for the body. It’s great for the heart, aids in weight loss, keeps you regular, etc.

When you commit to walking regularly, it helps you develop the kind of mindset you need to keep going. People don’t usually start this massive exercise routine right off the bat. When you start off small with say a walk each day, then you can way more easily build on that and develop an amazing routine. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming to start a massive undertaking. I find it’s a lot easier when I break it down into smaller chunks like taking a walk every day, even if it’s only for ten minutes. Better that then nothing right? The benefits of simply taking a walk are impressive and so worth the effort. Walking can turn into running and that can turn into a full-blown workout routine! Before you know it you can have that beach body just by starting small with regular short walks.
