How To Use Your Empty Oil Bottles

By Terri Bonin

I have a confession to make. I have a LOT of empty essential oil bottles. I mean…a. lot. I use them in all sorts of ways but I realized that many people might not know what to do with them so I wanted to share how I use them. It’s important to stretch out the oils as far as humanly possible because no one wants to waste even a single drop! Right? Right. The first way that I use my Young Living essential oils bottles when they’re empty is to…

Add a few more drops to a bottle, fill the rest with V-6 oil, slap on a roller ball (or place gently, whatever floats your boat) and give to a friend to try. One of the best ways to share the oil goodness is to make a roller bottle for a friend! Instead of having to buy some off amazon, why not repurpose your empty bottles?

Another tip I recently learned was to take a n empty oil bottle, remove the top and stopper and place with a cup of Epsom salts in a sealed container. Let it sit for 2 days and then you have oil infused Epsom salts! How awesome is that?

You can have fun creating your own signature scent by mixing the last few drops of different oils. Make sure to write down the recipe in case you fall in love with one. You don’t want to have to figure it out all over again!

You can make your own travel kit by adding a few drops to several 5ml bottles and grabbing them whenever you’re on the go. Never find yourself without oils!

You can also freshen up your mattress by opening up the bottle, removing the stopper and filling the bottle ¾ full with baking soda. Allow the bottle to sit overnight and then sprinkle onto your mattress, let sit for an hour, and then vacuum it up. Enjoy the fresh scent friend!

Last tip ~ wait until you can’t get any more drops out of your vitality oil and then fill the empty bottle with plain sea salt. Let it sit for a couple of days and voila, you have your own flavored sea salt! Yum!

There are so many things you can do with a full bottle of oil and now you know what you can do with the empties!

Great great ideas! Thanks so much for the tips! I love filling up my stress Away bottle at least 1/4 full of Stress Away and the rest carrier oil! That’s my daily perfume! 💜
