How to NOT Gain Weight During Quarantine
By Meggan Larson
How are you doing friend? These are unprecedented times that seem to get crazier with each passing day. I see a lot of people stress eating because they’re worried about everything going on right now. I’m seeing a lot of extra baking happening and that’s great!
The trick is…
Not to eat it all though. Stress eating is NOT your friend right now especially with all of the gyms being closed. I kind of take my day to day life for granted sometimes because honestly, nothing has changed for my family. We are always home together because I homeschool and my husband takes the winters off. I did find myself falling into the trap of stress eating though. The more I read about the virus on social media the more I didn’t care about what I was eating.
That’s a trap though! Eating sugar, grains, and processed foods right now is going to lower your immune system. Do you know what else is going to do that? FEAR! Now is not the time to panic friend. Now is the time to eat well, go for walks (practicing social distance of course), spend time with family (if you’re at home with your kids right now), and limit your exposure to the negativity on social media.
Do some extra baking with your kids but let them eat the extra calories. Give yourself grace but don’t let that be a license to eat everything in sight. If you haven’t been taking immune-boosting supplements until now, PLEASE get some and start taking them. If this virus has taught us anything it’s that everything can change in the blink of an eye.
Stay well friends! If you’d like me to pray with you please reach out. These are tumultuous times but God is still in control.
We are going to be hosting a 28-day “Healthy Home Challenge : From Panicked to Prepared” in order to help ease your mind during this cray cray time! You’ll get everything you need delivered right to your door and we will be walking through everything together one step at a time. Let’s get the immune-suppressing chemicals out of your home and the cleanliness in so you can feel good about what you’re using in and around your family. The challenge starts on April 6th! Get all the details here.
