Holly on Hollywood
“Heartland”
by Holly McClure

HEARTLAND is a multi-generational family drama series set in Alberta, Canada, centered on a family getting through life together in both happy and trying times. Based on the book series by Lauren Brooke, it follows life on the Heartland ranch as Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall), her older sister Lou (Michelle Morgan) and Grandfather Jack (Shaun Johnston), deal with the challenges of running the ranch that has been in their family for generations. Heartland is not like any other ranch, it’s a horse ranch with a special mission of treating troubled or neglected horses and finding them new homes. Aside from the breathtaking scenery, beautiful horses and relatable storyline, the story has an interesting twist. Amy inherited her late mother’s uncanny ability to work with, understand and help heal the horses on their ranch.
