“Holly on Hollywood”
Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip centers around Alvin, Simon and Theodore (voiced by Justin Long, Mathew Gray and Jesse McCartney), who are up to their typical pranks and trouble when they learn their manager Dave (Jason Lee) is taking his beautiful girlfriend Samantha (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), on a business trip to Miami without them. Fearing a possible marriage proposal, the boys unite with Samantha’s bratty son (Josh Green) on a road trip to stop it. Along the way they get into lots of trouble and are chased by a mentally unstable U.S. air marshal (Tony Hale). This is a silly movie aimed at kids but I have to admit, I laughed at a few scenes as well. Parents, the PG is for several scenes about bullying and violence, some language and potty humor (lots of fart, poop and pee jokes), a few scenes in adult club, pool and party situations with drinking and scantily dressed women. There is plenty of chipmunk mischief, dancing and music with songs like: “Iko Iko”, “Uptown Funk” and “Baby Got Back”, an appearance from rapper Redfoo and of course the Chipettes (Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Kaley Cuoco)…There is a sweet side to Alvin and the Chipmunks with a feel-good message about families, adoption and what it means to love and take care of each other…but Disney and Pixar this is not.
