  1. Coat the beef in a bowl with a mixture of almond flour and salt.
  2. Slightly brown the coated beef in a skillet on the stove top.
  3. Place the beef in the slow cooker.
  4. Mix tomato paste with the beef broth and drops of young living oil in the stove top skillet used to brown the beef.
  5. Pour the liquid over beef along with the wine.
  6. Add (optional) carrots, onion and mushrooms along with garlic and remaining seasonings.
  7. Stir the ingredients, cover and cook on low 4-6 hours or on high 2-3 hours. It’s ready when the meat and veggies are tender. Remove bay leaves & garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

A nice addition to this recipe are the Country Biscuits!

Hi! Would it be possible to just finish cooking the entire stew in a dutch oven after browning the beef in it? I’m thinking yes, but I would be a guess as to how to finish it off. The stove on low or the oven on something like 300?
    Thanks so much! 🙂

I have a question. Does grass fed stew meat cook quicker than regular? I always cook my stew meat for 8 hours and even then it can be tough. Am I overcooking it or is it just bad meat??

Wow! I just made this as our first THM meal along with the biscuits that were suggested. My husband and I really enjoyed these recipes! The meat was so tender and flavorful from the red wine. And the biscuits. Oh my word. Even our 5 year old loved them with a little butter and some strawberry preserves. They’re the first GF bread type product that I actually enjoyed. The flavor was really nice (we omitted the cheese) and texture reminded me of cornbread. These recipes are going on my list to make again! Thank you!
