Hearing the Voice of Truth

Hearing the Voice of Truth

by Diana Scothorn

It’s necessary to have the right relationships we’re connected to.  If we don’t have the right voices speaking into our lives, we may not make the right choices. The voices that speak in our ears will definitely influence the steps we take.

I’ve learned the plans and purpose for my life flow through…

…the relationships I surround myself with because God uses people for the blessings to flow!  He will also use people to prepare us for the transition.

When God is going to transition us from one season to another, people are always involved. God will use people that have already gone through what we are going through to help us find our way.

We may be struggling with our marriage, our health, our children, or even our thoughts, but the right voices speaking into our life can impact the outcome of what we do.

Likewise, the wrong voices speaking into our life can negatively affect our outcome for our future!

When I went through the devastation of betrayal in my marriage thirty years ago, I told no one what I was going through. I was fearful, alone, and hopeless! Despite my plan to keep my secret,  God still sent someone to speak a right-on-time word when I LEAST EXPECTED it but NEEDED it MOST!

That word not only sustained me, but it also prepared me for the future that awaited! Jesus sent His Word through a person.

John 16:13 says, But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what he hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. People led by the Spirit of God are vessels God uses to lead us in our lives.

The right people in our life can unlock hidden potential.  My husband and I have a marketplace ministry in all 50 States,  and when we hire people, we let them know the first thing, we will stretch them and pull gifts out of them they didn’t know existed.

People are waiting for someone to recognize their gifts. God places people in our life to unlock future potential.  We’re reminded of this in Proverbs 18:16 where it says, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

The devil, on the other hand, will strategically surround us with people who will abort the plans and purposes God has for our life.  John 10:10 says,“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

The devil’s mission is to steal your identity, kill your purpose, and destroy your future for eternal life. The good news in John 10:27 says, “ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”  The devil cannot deceive us when we follow the voice of truth.

We need to have Kingdom connections. Kingdom connections are power relationships. They’re relationships that will influence our lives and imprint on our hearts, and they’ll open doors we cannot open for ourselves.

When we have the wrong people in our life, they will shut out the right people. The Kingdom-minded people God has placed in our circle will push us further than we can go on our own.

When the Virgin Mary visited Elizabeth for the first time since they were both pregnant, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped! We need to surround ourselves with the right people so when we’re around them, we’re stirred up, and our spirits leap.  We should avoid people who cause us to abort the dreams God has birthed inside us.

When we realize God will use everyday people to influence and open doors we never thought possible, we’ll understand it doesn’t take a big platform to be a vessel for God. It takes hearing the right voice, so we can make the right choice to influence and make a difference one life at a time.

It’s wisdom to listen to the voice of truth. The truth we know will set us free and guide our lives to victory!
