Healthy Options for Your Pet
by Terri Bonin
These days the harsh toxins found in most products we bring into our homes not only affect us, but also our furry friends we love! If essential oils are good for us, then why not our pets. The Animal Scents line has combined certain essential oils that have been shown to help with pets. Each pet product and how it might be just the thing for your pet’s healthy lifestyle check out the scoop below…
RepelAroma
Just as the name implies, these oils are generally not loved by fleas and ticks.* Put 2-4 drops in the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. Then, apply to your pet’s coat. RepelAroma is a blend of Citronella, Idaho Tansy, Palo Santo, and Tea Tree essential oils.
Animal Scents Shampoo
If your dog or cat has sensitive skin, then you need an all-natural shampoo. However, most animal shampoos on the market are laced with harsh chemicals and perfumes that are not good for our furry friend’s long term. Animal Scents® Shampoo cleans, conditions, and protects your pet’s coat without harmful ingredients. Formulated with five pure essential oils and other natural ingredients, this shampoo is safe and effective for animals.* Below is a great video explaining each ingredient in Animal Scents Shampoo:

This blend of essential oils is great for skin repair. Just like us, dogs and cats can get dry, flaky, irritated skin. Mendwell combines Geranium, Lavender, Hyssop, Myrrh, Frankincense, Hinkoki. FRANKINCENSE!!! Even the powerhouse of essential oils is good for pets!!!
Infect Away
This blend of oils is like taking the preventive approach and providing your animal with a protective skin barrier.*
Animals can get into all sorts of trouble outside so this acts sort of like a shield.* Essential oils in this blend are Myrrh, Patchouli, Dorado Azul, Palo Santo, Ecuador Oregano, Ocotea. All good stuff!!!!
T-Away
Our pets can get stressed and fearful just like us. T-Away contains lots of essential oils to help keep our loved animals calm*: Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Frankincense, Valerian, Black Spruce, Davana, Lavender, Geranium, Helichrysum, Citrus Hystrix, Rose, Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Orange, Angelica, Hyssop, Spanish Sage, Coriander, Bergamot, Lemon, Jasmine Absolute, Roman Chamomile, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Blue Tansy, Ruta, German Chamomile.
ParaGize
Some animals (like my friend’s cat) can’t digest all types of canned food well. ParaGize helps promote healthy digestion. This is good to have on hand if you like to feed your dog or cat table scraps as some foods can give our little fuzzy, loveable friends an upset tummy.
Animal Scents Ointment
For minor irritations use this gentle, soothing salve. It’s great for your pet because it doesn’t have any harmful synthetic ingredients. Check out all the oils that go into this fantastic product: Myrrh, Carrot Seed, Rose Hip, Tea Tree, Carrot Seed, Geranium, Patchouli, Idaho Balsam Fir, Bergamot, Ylang Ylang in a base with Mink Oil, Beeswax, Lanolin, Sesame Seed Oil and Wheat Germ Oil. For best results, cleanse the irritated area then apply Young Living essential oils of your choice, then cover with Animal Scents ointment to hold in essential oils and protect the area with a moisture barrier. (of course, I use this on our family as well! It’s great stuff!)
