Greasy Hair Woes
By Terri Bonin
Some friends and I were chatting the other day about greasy hair. How frustrating is that right?! Ugh, nothing grosses me out more. Well, okay, some things gross me out more but greasy hair on my scalp is near the top of the list. We were discussing different ways to get rid of said greasiness and I thought I’d share some of the tips we came up with…
…first things first STOP using hair products that are full of nasty chemicals. I’m serious ladies, this is a BIG DEAL! Not only will those things add to your greasy hair, they’ll also fill your body with all that junk too. There are literal hormone disruptors in those chemicals. Does your hair ever fall out in clumps? Exactly. The chemicals are burning your hair off. No thanks! (Another reason for hair falling out could be hormonal in which case you really want to get your hormones checked and balanced out ASAP).
Back to the greasy hair issue…I highly recommend Young Living’s Lavender Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. It is completely free of any harsh chemicals, smells amazing, and is plant-based so hello all natural! You might go through a little bit of detox in which your hair stays greasy but stick with it and your hair will be grease-free and shine like the sun. Another trick we use with this shampoo is to wash your hair, rinse, then immediately wash it again. Sooo foamy and tingly! Plus it’s super ultra-concentrated so I actually only use a third of a bottle at a time. I keep two thirds in another container, add a tsp of baking soda to the bottle with a third left and fill it with hot water from the tap. I turn it upside down and right side up over and over again and let it sit for a while then voila! The texture is creamy and smooth and I make three full bottles out of one. I love the cost-effectiveness of Young Living! Bye-bye grease, hello shine!
