Got Your Ticket?

Family Time, Rest Day, The Sabbath

There was a man who sees another man with a ticket to heaven, and the man demanded a portion of his ticket. So the man gave him a piece of his ticket.  The demanding man decided that if he had just a little more of the ticket, he would receive more rewards in Heaven. The demanding man with the pieces of the ticket went before God and presented it to him. God said, “This ticket shows me that you are not my son.” Then, the man who gave the pieces away, presented his ticket to God. God said to him, “This shows that you are my son. Welcome to Heaven!”

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). Jesus suffered and sacrificed himself on the cross for our sins. He offers us the only way to heaven. Do you have your ticket?

Rest Day, The Sabbath, Family Time

This story illustrates that we cannot get to heaven on our own merits, or anyone else’s for that matter. Being born into a Christian home, knowing the right people, or behaving a certain way, doesn’t get you to heaven. Just like sitting in a garage, doesn’t make you car. Only Jesus has the power to cleanse us of our sins and make us presentable to God. (See Ephesians 2:8-10)

If you would like to receive God’s free gift, say a prayer telling God that you agree with him that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness, and that you believe that he sent his only Son, Jesus, to die for your sins so that you can have eternal life with him in heaven just like it says in John 3:16. Then, ask God to help you to follow him, and begin to read his Word daily so that you may grow in wisdom and knowledge.

And if you prayed that pray we would love to know so we can also be praying for you on this new journey! Please comment below or feel free to email us through the contact page here! Congratulations on making sure you got your ticket!
