God Can Make It Happen
by Diana Scothorn
The hardest lesson I’ve had to learn is that it’s not up to me to make it happen. It is up to me to believe God can make it happen. We are called to believe and not doubt.
What we believe is what we will align our life to join. Doubt will cause us to walk away from what we once believed. James 1:6-8 says, ”But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
You can’t be joined together and apart at the same time.
That’s why the Bible…
…calls it double-minded. To be double-minded is two-fold in meaning and conduct. Amos 3:3 says, “can two walk together, except they are agreed?”
When we are in relationships, our words, and our actions, do not align with the standards of our convictions; we are living one way, with our hearts in a different place. Our life and mouth have to line up with our beliefs.
We can’t believe God for a loving marriage and speak against our mates to our friends. We can’t believe in our heart to have discipline to eat healthy and lose weight, and say I can never lose weight with our mouth. We can’t be believing God to be debt-free, and spew with our mouths we’re always broke.
We can’t believe with our mouths and discount what we think because of what our eyes see. If we act on what we see, our hearts will deceive us and our life will begin to drift in the wrong direction.
Hebrews 11:1 say, “ faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things “ not yet seen.” Just because what we see is not yet, does not mean we walk away. It is yet to come; “IT WILL HAPPEN.”
Often, things are different than what they appear. What we see in this world is not what is happening in the spiritual world. If we do not walk away from what we believe, God will make sure, that it will happen!
Faith believes beyond what we see. When all hell appears to be coming against you, that is a perfect sign that satan wants division between you and the promise of God!
Doubt makes your eyes agree with your circumstances, which causes your mind to separate from God and His promise. The world says what you see is what you get. God says, what you believe in your heart, if you do not doubt, you will receive it yet.
God can make it happen!
